September 2026 wholesale rice prices in Cagayan de Oro kept climbing in the volume segment — regular rice (PINYA, BEE HAPPY JASMINE) added another ~₱33 per 25kg bag — while the premium end (jasmine, glutinous, red) finally flattened after two months of steep gains. Our actual average transaction prices for September:
PINYA (our flagship) 25kg: ₱1,373 average — up ₱33 from August (+2.5%).
BEE HAPPY JASMINE 25kg: ₱1,368 — up ₱33 (+2.5%).
YUM MASTER 25kg: ₱1,367 — up ₱8 (+0.6%).
YOUNG CHOW (jasmine) 25kg: ₱1,343 — up ₱1, essentially flat.
PILIT (glutinous) 25kg: ₱1,153 — down ₱12 (-1.0%), the first decline since the July spike.
RED rice 25kg: ₱1,424 — down ₱1, holding steady.
Smaller packs moved with the volume segment: PINYA 10kg ₱559 (+₱14) and 5kg ₱282 (+₱6); BEE HAPPY JASMINE 10kg ₱556 (+₱14) and 5kg ₱281 (+₱6). In Iligan prices held slightly above CDO — PINYA 25kg averaged ₱1,384 (+₱34) and YOUNG CHOW ₱1,387 (+₱31, still climbing there).
What this means for buyers:
The climb has narrowed to regular rice. PINYA and BEE HAPPY rose about 2.5% again — a second straight month of gains in the volume segment — while jasmine, glutinous and red stalled. If you buy regular rice in bulk, expect today's level to hold until new import arrivals land.
First signs of softening in specialty rice. PILIT posted its first monthly decline since the July spike (-₱12), and RED and YOUNG CHOW went flat — after two months of strong gains, the premium end has stopped climbing.
Iligan runs slightly higher across the board. PINYA ₱1,384 vs ₱1,373 in CDO; YOUNG CHOW ₱1,387 vs ₱1,343 — the corridor spread stayed tight and predictable.

Historical context: July 2026 saw the sharp spike (regular milled 25kg from ~₱1,212 to ~₱1,337 within days, driven by tight import arrivals). August held the gain — monthly averages settled 0.6–10% above July across major varieties, with Iligan tracking CDO closely.
